Gibson Fireside Pipe

Gibson Fireside Pipes are made from cocobolo wood (or optionally African Blackwood), with Delrin stocks and chanter, and metal or imitation ivory ferrules. They come with a Canmore synthetic bag, velveteen bag cover, silk cords, Gibson drone and chanter reeds, and a very harmonically true synthetic chanter (cocobolo or blackwood chanters are available as well). A unique feature is the easy shut-off system for the drones, enabling easier tuning and the flexibility to play with two or three drones.

The pipes are mouth-blown, with synthetic reeds - low maintenance and short learning-curve. This pipe is perfect for indoor practicing, late-night practicing (doesn't wake the kids!), or playing at ceilidhs and parties. The chanter is full-size and has the same feel as a regular pipe chanter. The drones are full and rich (lovely harmonics with the chanter) and steady.

The Fireside Pipes come in the Key of Bb, A, or D. The D chanter is normal-size, not a tiny chanter like some D smallpipes. The A or Bb drones *can* play in the other key (Bb or A) without modification, though a kit is available as an option to smooth the transition.
