Highland Reeds MCS2 Moisture Control System

This redesigned water trap from Achiltibuie Highland Reeds is designed for use with any zipper pipe bag (ie, Bannatyne, Ross, Canmore, Gannaway). The system consists of cartridge inserts for each drone stock. The cartridges are filled with small pellets of silica gel which act as a dessicant. There is a removable modular in each connector between the cartridge and the stock. Additional pellets are included so you can rotate the dessicant for drying.

Some of the recent improvements to the system are: giving it a rubber connector to make it more flexible when putting pipes down and picking them up; reinforcing the `L` joint as this was a weak point; but most importantly have changed the valve to screw-adjustable which gives consistency of air pressure thereby helping the unsteady blower.

All parts of the MCS2 are fully interchangeable and available to purchase separately so it is possible to upgrade from the drone valves to the full moisture system.

An additional hose / cartidge for the chanter (or blowpipe) is available for an additional $25.

For best results, use of a deflector or simple tube trap to direct moist air away from the chanter reed and bag seam is recommended.
