Made by John Walsh of Nova Scotia, the shuttle pipes were inspired by the French Musette. Both the two and three-drone models are mouth-blown, with the same fingering as the Great Highland Bagpipe. The full-size Delrin chanter is in the key of A and is well balanced and easy to tune with other instruments. The Shuttle Pipe has wooden drones (Two-Drone has a bass and tenor, Three-Drone has bass, baritone, and tenor) combined in a common stock and tuned via the use of "shuttles" or slides. The reeds in the drones are similar to conventional practice chanter reeds, while the chanter reed is more of a plastic smallpipe reed. A Canmore bag is fitted to the pipes, and an attractive bag cover is included. As easy to blow as a practice chanter!
